  2. PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION (“PMR”)

    For fatigue and better sleep.

If you’re experiencing fatigue or insomnia, tensing and relaxing major muscle groups can bring a deep sense of relaxation to your body and help you fall sleep. Progressive Muscle Relaxation, or actively clenching your muscles and then letting them relax, has been shown to decrease psychological and physical tension, lower blood pressure and heart rate, and increase overall quality of life.

  3. SELF-REFLECTION

For symptoms of stress, including anxiety.

When you’re dealing with stress and anxiety, you may feel like what you’re experiencing will never pass. Slow down your mind and let it rest by hearing your thoughts, naming them (and therefore accepting them), and then letting them pass. Don’t fight what you’re thinking. Instead, gently invite your mind to let those thoughts go and focus on your breathing.

  4. OPENING UP TO LOVE

For symptoms of stress, including anger.

Learning how to openly give and receive love is key for a healthy relationship, especially the one you have with yourself —but it’s easy to be hard on yourself when you’re going through a stressful time. This meditation helps you send and receive love when you need it the most. Studies show that both giving and receiving loving kindness can help lead to a stronger immune system, and more positive interactions with the ones you love.

  5. COMPASSIONATE BODY SCAN

    For befriending your body.

Check into what’s going on in your body with the three C’s— Curiosity, Care and Compassion—to support healing. Studies show that the Body Scan meditation improves the accuracy of how we perceive both our internal and external bodily sensations, which can help diffuse the intensity of thoughts and emotions related to the body.
